Suspected Worth County arsonist and murderer arrested

Investigators haven’t said what the motive may be but, a suspect has been arrested for starting a deadly early morning fire Friday at a mobile home on Fortune Road in Worth County. That fire killed a 48 year-old disabled man, Gregory Fulghum and badly burned his companion Betty Booth Bigler, age 64.

A man who had been staying with the couple, Michael Carlisle, age 31, was arrested Saturday and charged with arson and murder and booked into the Worth County Jail.

The victims were known to take in boarders. Neighbors say that Carlisle had only been staying with them for a short time.
