Three Valdosta men arrested on drug, gun charges
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Three men were arrested after Lowndes County deputies discovered various types of drugs and a stolen weapon.
According to Sheriff Chris Prine, on Thursday evening investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office arrested Donnell Mathis, Michael Robinson and Phillip Bradley in the parking lot of the New Valdosta Inn.
During a search , investigators found about four grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana and 40 capsules of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly referred to as MDMA or ecstasy.
Sheriff Prine says that Donnell Mathis initially provided a false name but was later identified by his fingerprints.
Based on information investigators received during the arrest, a search warrant was obtained for a hotel room located at the Garden Villa Inn, which was rented by a Donnell Mathis. Investigators found about 9.8 grams of cocaine, 286.1 grams of ecstasy and several guns during the search. They later discovered that one gun had been stolen from a Valdosta residence.
All three suspects were transported to the Lowndes County Jail.
Investigators are continuing to work closely with detectives from the Valdosta Police Department regarding the recovery of the firearm.
