Page Wins District 5

August 25, 2012 Uncategorized No Comments

The race for Lowndes County Commission Super district 5 is over and John Page  has been certified the winner with 51.8% of the vote compared to Jody Halls 48.2% ( a difference of only 67 votes). This after  101 Provisional ballots were disqualified because some  had already voted early,  weren’t registered, were registered as democrats; both candidates are Republicans.  But, most of the disqualified votes were  not  from district 5. This was most likely due to confusion over new district lines. What ever the reason,  this is the first time that  number  of  ballots had to be disqualified.

Commissioner-Elect John Page bring to the new Super District his experience  as a commissioner on The Greater Lowndes County Planning Commission and Former chairman of the Valdosta/Lowndes County Chamber’s Economic &  Development and Taxation Committee.
